Ruth Bailey passed away on Saturday after a very short illness. Ruth worked as an accountant for over 25 years at Economy Lumber Co. of Campbell.

She and her late husband 'Skip' Bailey joined the Santa Clara Valley Gem and Mineral Society in 1967 and she continued to be active in the club until her death. She served as an officer in many positions including President and Treasurer. Ruth was an active leader in the California Federation of Mineralogical Societies, the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies, and The American Lands Access Association. She also worked with the Vision Literacy Program of San Jose. Ruth enjoyed extensive travel over the entire world. Also sewing, quilting and doll making.

Ruth was predeceased by her youngest daughter Montella Lopez. She is survived by one sister Caroline Fischer of Port Hadlock WA, daughters Mary Schuett of North Highlands, Myrna Smith of San Jose, Sons Jimmy Dodge (Parvaneh) of Redwood City, Bart Bailey (Donna) of Tenmile OR, Carl Bailey (Adeline) of Gold Hill OR, William Bailey (Carrol) of Drain OR, and Robert Bailey of Fremont along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 4-9PM. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11AM at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. Interment to follow at Mission City Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or The American Cancer Society.
