Frank Wayne Clifton
Mar. 21, 1942 - Apr. 22, 2013

Frank Wayne Clifton, 71, passed away to be with his Lord Jesus on April 22, 2013 in Everett, WA.

He was born to Clayton and Clista Clifton in Yakima, WA. Frank graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1960. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force.

He retired from the Snohomish County PUD after thirty years, and later managed Dollar Plus stores for several years in the area.

Frank never met a stranger. Though he loved to talk, he was also a good listener and enjoyed getting to know people wherever he went. His compassion and strong spirit were evident when, after losing both of his legs to vascular disease in 2005, the hospital staff called on him regularly over the next few years to come in and encourage new amputees. Frank considered it an honor.

The family had property at Pilaguamish Community Club for several years where they enjoyed spending weekends with family and friends. It didn't take long for Frank to know everyone in the area. He enjoyed running around in his golf cart and, of course, visiting. Frank also loved gardening, cars, and shopping. He especially liked to buy gifts.

Last summer (2012) Frank and Nancy took a trip across the United States with their best friends, Dick and Linda Johnson. It was something they had all talked and dreamed about for years. Along the way they visited family and friends from coast to coast and Frank loved every minute of it. Of course, it gave him an endless number of new stories to tell.

Frank is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Traci Clifton of Everett; son, Travis Clifton of Everett; sisters, Jane (Dennis) Cuchiara of Colorado, Donna Clifton of Everett, Sherry (Ed) Bozell of Arlington, Cathy (Chip) Byrne of Florida, Debbie (Chris) Greenlee of Everett; and a large extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Donations may be made to the Everett Gospel Mission in Frank's name.

Visitation was be held on Saturday, April 27, from 11a.m.-3p.m. at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home, 1702 Pacific Ave., Everett, 425-252-2191.

A military service will be held graveside on Monday, April 29 at 12:30p.m. at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1615 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett. All are welcome.

Memorial Day 2015, FALLEN SOLDIER TABLE The table is small, set for one- symbolizing the frailty of one soldier alone against his enemies. The table cloth is white- symbolizing the purity of the soldier's intentions to respond to their country's call to arms. The single red rose symbolizes remembrance. It is displayed in a vase, reminding us of the families and loved ones of our comrades in arms who keep their memories alive, lest we forget. The red ribbon tied prominently on the vase is a reminder of the blood shed by all veterans, protecting the liberty so loved by our country. A slice of lemon sits on the bread plate to remind us of the bitterness of their fate. The bread plate and lemon slice is covered in salt- symbolic of the tears of family and friends, who miss you. The glass is inverted, for you cannot toast with us tonight. The chair is empty, for they can sit with us no longer. In remembrance of all the fallen soldiers.
