DARRELL BOSTICK

Former Shawnee resident Darrell "Sarge" Bostick of Broken Bow died Tuesday at a Lubbock, Texas, hospital. He was 70. Bostick was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Wanette to Jimmy and Mona Bostick. He married Ruth Pinkerton on May 24,
1952. Bostick was a 1949 graduate of Shawnee High School. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Bostick retired from the U.S. Army in 1977 at the rank of master sergeant E-8. He was a member of Shawnee Church of Christ and attended Idabel Free Will Baptist Church. He had lived in the Broken Bow area since October of 1977. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Jimmy Ray Bostick.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bostick, Broken Bow; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Lynn Bostick, Hochatown; two daughters and one son-in-law, Janice Marie and Jim Magner, Milwaukie, Ore.; Cynthia Crooks, Oklahoma City;
brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Mildred Bostick, Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three aunts and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Brumley-McCurtain Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, with the Rev. Jimmy Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
