Hilda M. Amundson, 96, Chetek, Wis., formerly of Rice Lake and Minong, died Friday, May 6, 2005, at Knapp Haven Nursing Home, Chetek.

She was born Jan. 5, 1909, to Otto Sr. and Marie (Swanson) Nelson in the Town of Clinton, Barron County.

She married Genard W. Amundson on Nov. 19, 1928, at Duluth, Minn. They lived in Minong for most of their lives. She moved to Rice Lake in 1988 and later became a resident at Knapp Haven Nursing Home.

Surviving are a son, Richard of Superior; a daughter, Beverly (Richard) Blaylock of Port Washington; grandchildren, Constance (Neil) Woida of Jacksonville, Fla., Cynthia Blaylock of St. Francis, Kimberly (Joseph) Bowker of Crofton, Md., and Karmen (Walter) Pensyl of Lillian, Ala.; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Nelson of Minong; a sister, Esther (Robert) Olson of Monona; as well as many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 20, 1988; and several brothers and sisters.

Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, from Mark Rausch Funeral Home, Dallas, Rev. Rachael O'Mera officiating, with interment at Dallas Cemetery, Town of Dallas.
