He was a United States Army WWII Veteran, an electrician and worked for Standard Armature & Electric Co., Somerset, Kentucky. He was a member of Campground Baptist Church, where he served for 45 years as Deacon and 43 years as Church Treasurer.
He is survived by his wife; Margaret Black Burns, whom he married on February 28th, 1948 in Jamestown, Kentucky: one son; Robert Lee “Bobby” (and Patricia Ann) Burns, Somerset, Kentucky: one daughter; Judy Ann Gibson, Somerset, Kentucky: one sister; Lillian Ann (and Joe) Silver, Somerset, Kentucky: 2 grandchildren; Jared Chyle Gibson and Robert Blake Gibson: several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: one son; Gary Michael Burns: one brother; Carl Burns: three sisters; Thelma Bess, Lucille Chittwood and Rosie Duncan.
