John C. Whitecavage, 75, of Lyndwood Avenue, Lyndwood section of Hanover Township, died Thursday at home.
Born on Nov. 14, 1926, in Plymouth, he was the son of the late Joseph and Verna (Rubinski) Woytkiewicz. He attended Larksville schools. Before retiring, he was a foreman for more than 30 years at the Liberty Throwing Co., Kingston. He was a member of Saint Casimir's Church, Lyndwood. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Alice Postner; sisters, Mary Karavis, Alice Shaffern, Barbara Sincavage, and Leona Szafranovicz; and brother, Albert.
Surviving are sisters, Eleanor Shandra, of Lyndwood, Hanover Township, and Frances Strunk, Shickshinny; numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
His funeral was held at the convenience of the family from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth. Interment was in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
