Norman R. Davies
Norman R. Davies, 91, died Dec. 27, 2001, at Hospice Residential Care Center, Hutchinson.
He was born July 4, 1910, at Bala, the son of Robert Ellis and Lenora (Kipp) Davies. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he was self-employed but had retired.
He belonged to Pentecostal Holiness.
In June 1949, he married Erma May Dewater at Bala. She died Jan. 2,1978.
Survivors include: four sons, Mike, Keith and Jeffrey Davies, all of Hutchinson, and Charles Davies, Alabama; two daughters, Sharon Jensen, Hutchinson, and Sondra Davies, McPherson; four sisters, Edith Johnson, Hutchinson, Blanche Loberg, Manhattan, Kathryn Henton, Oklahoma, and Nellie Bammes, Wichita; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" Davies; and two sisters, Martha Loberg and Ida Stephens.
Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Bala Cemetery, with the Rev. Betty Pinkston presiding. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Reno County, in care of the mortuary.
Norman is my mother's 1st cousin.
