Mrs. Andrew Anderson Dies
Services Will Be Held Monday
Mrs. Andrew Anderson, 81, of Estherville, died this morning at 7:30 in Holy Family hospital. A native of Norway, she was born Johanna Everson Jorgenson, daughter of Jorgen Everson Jorgenson, Aug. 12, 1868 [per cemetery records, 1870], in Norland. One of seven girls.

She received her education in Norway and came to the United States at the age of 26 and married Andrew Anderson in 1896. The couple lived at first in Illinois and later moved to a farm near Wallingford until retirement in 1916 Estherville. Her husband died in July 1936.

Survivors include a stepson, Julius Anderson of Estherville; two other sons, George Anderson of St. Paul and Alfred Anderson of Joliet; and a daughter, Myrtle, Mrs. M.G. Dakin of Baton Rouge, La. She was preceded in death by her husband and by a son, Joseph Anderson, who died in 1927.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Sandin funeral home, with the Rev. L.G. Hinderaker officiating. Burial will be in Wallingford cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 23, 1950)

The full list of surviving sons, daughter and stepsons includes henry Anderson of Waverly, Olin Anderson of Wallingford, Mrs. H. O. Sevold of Story city, Bert Anderson of Graettinger, Julius Anderson of St. Paul, Alfred Anderson of Joliet and Mrs. M.G. Dakin of Baton Rouge.
