Born in Lexington County, she was the daughter of the late Morgan Asbury Sharpe and Florence Susan Berry Sharpe. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cayce where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lawson formerly worked at R. L. Bryan Printing Company and retired from the Vogue Press Printing Company. She was also a seamstress extraordinaire.
