John P. Hones

Dowagiac- John P. Hones, 86, of 600 West Huron Street, Ann Arbor, and formerly of Dowagiac, died Saturday evening in the Schato Nursing home, Dowagiac.

Mr. Hones was born July 2, 1886, in Van Buren county, the son of Horatio and Maria Walsh Hones.

One June 8, 1911, in Chicago, he married the former Mary Louise Connery. She preceded him in death on June 8, 1958.

Survivng are two sons, Donald of Ibion and John of Fox Lake, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. John (Margaret) Siczek of Dowagiac; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Florence Tindall of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

A requiem mass was celebrated at 1 p.m. today in Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic church, Dowagiac. Father Charles Smith officiated. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.

The McLauchlin funeral home, Dowagiac, was in charge of arrangements.
