Odell, in Ballston Spa, and prepared himself for admission to the bar, which occurred at Schenectady, in April 1869; September 29th the same year he came to Iowa and engaged in his chosen avocation; he is associated with Hon. S. Harned in business and holds the office of mayor of the city; he married Miss Mattie E. Harned in December 1871; she was born in this county and died March 23rd, 1877 leaving one doughtier: Ella B. born February 14th 1873; lost two children: Seward L. and Staats S.
