She was married first to Jeptha Fallen, by whom she had 8 children, 7 of them living in 1913. She married John D. Gilley (1886-1949) of Wolfe County in 1912, and their child Joanna "Josie" was her ninth.
At a very early age Josie was adopted by Samuel "Big Henry" Stidham and his wife Josie Gilley of Wolfe County. Shortly thereafter the adoptive parents moved to Lincoln Co. Oklahoma, where Josie was reared. John D. Gilley followed them and died in Lincoln Co. OK in 1949.
Nothing is known of Martha's daughter Josie after the 1930 census, which showed the family in Lincoln Co. OK. The manager of this site (Wayne, below) is a relative and would like to hear from anyone who knows anything about her.
There is an uninscribed marble marker in this cemetery which may be Martha's, but this is uncertain.
