Roberta Josephine Landgraf Amdor, 86, of Heyworth died at 12:31 a.m. Friday (March 16, 2012) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Mrs. Amdor was born Aug. 10, 1925, in Flora, to Ernest Alfred and Myrtle Clevenger Landgraf. She married Wilbur "Bill" Amdor on Sept. 7, 1947, in Farmer City. He survives in Heyworth.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters.
Roberta and her husband were engaged in farming in the area and later in Waynesville before purchasing a farm and moving to Seymour, Iowa, in 1977.
Roberta graduated from high school in Farmer City and was a graduate of Illinois Commercial College in Champaign. She was a member of PEO Chapter DM in Seymour, Iowa, and was secretary of the board of Seymour Community Library.
Genealogy was her avocation. She was a member of the Wayne County Genealogical Society, Corydon, Iowa, and held many offices, including president, for several years. She was a member and volunteer of the Iowa Genealogical Society in Des Moines. Her many years of research resulted in tracing the Amdor family to the early 1600s in Germany.
