He was a former employee of Dana Corporation in Hagerstown. He was a member and official of the United Auto Workers local and was a member of the 25 year club at Dana. He was a former employee for the OHMIT Store in Cambridge City. Prior to working for Perfect Circle, he was assistant manager for PK Lumber for many years. Having a lifelong interest in sports, he took an active interest in summer baseball at Cambridge City.
Norman served during World War II, Pfc. U. S. Army.
Members of his family are his wife, Donna; son Ron of Cambridge City. Sisters Mary Lou Matthews of Montecello, Kentucky and Joan Winchester of Wichita, Kansas. Brothers Bill Burgess of Vero Beach, Florida and Robert D. Burgess of Lynn.
