In October, Mrs. Heist went to Florida as usual for the winter and accompanied by her son John. She had been ailing throughout the fall. One of the early residents of the village, she had a wide circle of friends and was widely known in the community, where her children were
all brought up. Her husband, John Heist, who died 17 years ago, had been prominent in business affairs in the village and western suburbs, and was the owner of the Brooks laundry and other related concerns.
Mrs. Heist leaves her children, Mrs Dawn H. Gaskill of Oak Park, John A. Heist and Pfc. Robert K. Heist of the U.S. Marines and late Daisy Jones.
Services will take place at 3 o'clock at the Postlewait Chapel with interment in Forest Home, the time and day to be confirmed. She is a past matron of Jephthah chapter of the Eastern Star.
