Barbara Ann Byrnes
Barbara Ann (Laughton) Byrnes, 74, of Middleburg, Fla., died Jan. 8, 2013, surrounded by her family following an eight-year courageous battle with metastatic colon cancer.
Barbara Ann Byrnes was born on Dec. 23, 1938, in Le Mars, the daughter of Richard Laughton and Carolyn Bogenrief Wood. She attended country school in rural Merrill and then went on to high school in Miami, Fla.
On Dec. 6, 1961, Barbara and Joseph Patrick Byrnes Sr. were united in marriage in Miami Fla., of which they made their home in sunny Florida most of their lives.
She was a member of Farm Bureau and was a 4-H leader in earlier years and her love and her passion for animals was present each and everyday
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Joseph P. Byrnes Sr., Middleburg Fla.; and her two sons, Patrick J. Byrnes Jr., of Middleburg, Fla., and Michael J Byrnes, of Miami, Fla.; her brothers, Tom and Dianne Laughton, of Le Mars, and John Laughton, of Ewing, N.J.; and uncle and aunt James and Kathleen Bogenrief, of Merrill, and cousins, Dick Bogenrief of Merrill, Kathy and Dave Moore, of Le Mars, and Dave and Margarete Bogenrief, of Austria. Other family members include, Julie Laughton, Jean Laughton, Ericka Jimenez, Ben Bogenrief, and Abigail Bogenrief.
She was preceded in death by her mother Carolyn Wood; Father Richard Laughton and her grandparents Benjamin and Albena Bogenrief.
As per her request there will be no memorial or funeral services.
