Ruth M. Armstrong , 74, of 2693 Schaeffer Dr. SW, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, in St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where friends may register after noon on Wednesday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph "Bud;" two daughters, [private] and Sheryl Shanahan of Jerome; a sister, Mary Woods of Marion; and a brother, [private] of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Ruth was born on June 7, 1924, in Marion, the daughter of Rodney and Nellie Harris Clark. She married Ralph D. Armstrong on May 31, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the VFW Post 788 Auxiliary.
Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of St. Luke's.
