NELIS DAVIS BROWN
Former Memphian Headed Hardin's Bakeries
Nelis Davis Brown, a former Memphian and vice president of Hardin's Bakeries of Mississippi, died at his home in Meridian, Miss., yesterday morning. He was 61.
Services will be at 11 tomorrow morning at National Funderal Home. Burial will be in Forest Hill.
Born in Clayton, N.J., Mr. Brown lived in Memphis from 1918 until 1944. He was associated with baking companies here before joining the Mississippi firm and to Jackson in 1944. He was a Baptist.
He was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion. He was also a Mason and while in Memphis was active in the Eastern Star.
Mr. Brown leaves three sons: Edward Brown of 695 Lucille, Davis Brown of 5311 Millbranch Road and Thomas O. Brown of Denver and six grandchildren.

Last rites for N.D. Brown, vice president of Hardin Bakery Management Corp., who died Tuesday morning at his residence, 3226 24th St. will be held in Memphis, Tenn.
The body was flown from Stephens Funeral Home Tuesday evening to the National Funeral Home at Memphis where the funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery there.
Edward B. and Harry D. Brown, sons of the deceased, reside at Memphis.
Funeral services will also be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Asbury, N.J., for the deceased's brother, Raymond Brown of that city, who died at approximately the same hour as N.D. Brown.
