Huntington Herald-Press 10/12/1995:
Noah W. Gottschalk, 77, Roanoke, and a resident of Galveston, Texas until 1980, died at 10:05 AM Wednesday (Oct. 11, 1995) at Miller's Merry Manor, Huntington.

Mr. Gottschalk was employed by the U.S. Post Office in Galveston as a clerk for 20 years. He was a member of the United Postal Workers Union, Christ United Methodist Church in Roanoke and American Legion Post 160 in Roanoke. He was a World War Ii Army veteran.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1918, in Fulton County, IN to George and Emma L. Swank Gottschalk. On Nov. 5, 1943, in Galveston, he married Mary M. Graugnard. She died on July 22, 1978. On March 1, 1980, he was married to Evelyn Wilson in Galveston. She died on Sept. 9, 1993.

Surviving relatives include one son, William H. Gottschalk, Orange, Texas; one stepson, James O. Wolf, Roanoke; one step-daughter, Mrs. Dan (Jean Ann) Larkey, Warren; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Lewis and Mabel Wagoner, and five brothers, Lyman, Lester, John, George Jr., and Cecil Gottschalk.

Services will be at the Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Robbins and Van Gilder Funeral Home at 10 AM on Saturday with Rev. Jerry Paul Densmore officiating. Following the services at the funeral home, the Roanoke American Legion will perform a memorial service.

Burial will be in Galveston County Memoril Park, Hitchcock, Texas, where a service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday with the Rev. Bill Laucher officiating.

Preferred memorials are to Christ United Methodist church, Roanoke.
