MSGT Allen retired from the U. S. Air Force having served from April 1948 until October 1970. He spent his AF career on his Airplanes which he loved. Born in Marvel, AL. he was the oldest of 6. He graduated from Montevallo High School where he played Basketball & was Sports editor of the School Newspaper. He loved his family, his Airplanes, Hunting, Fishing, Bluegrass Music & Travel. He is survied by his wife, two daughters, one granddaughter and three great grandchildren. During his AF Career he served in the Berlin Air Lift, Korean War, Vietnam War among many other things he held a Top Secret Security Clearance was in a SAC Unit (Strategic Air Command) was shot down while on 1 aircraft, was stationed in Maxwell AF Base Montgomery AL. Germany, Korea, Langley AF base Hampton, Virginia, Tachikawa Japan, Selfridge AF base Mt. Clements, Michigan, Odis AF base Mass. Texas, Florida, Miss. Naha AF Base Okinawa, Mcguire AF base New Jersey. After retiring from the AF he lived in Mobile, AL working for Ingalls Shipyard as Safety Inspector in Pascagoula Miss. Retiring there he moved back to Montevallo working for UAB. He believed in Environmental & Animal/Wildlife protection. He was dedicated to his family always a loving, dependable, strong, proud American, a hands on Son, Brother, Husband, Daddy & Pawpaw. Truly one of America's Unsung Hero's!
