Graveside services for Blanche M. Sausker, age 94, of Westhope, will be held at the Westhope Cemetery in the spring.
Blanche Marie Sausker, a daughter of DeForest and Lena (Von Readen) Wyman, was born on the family farm south of Westhope in Brander Township on Jan. 29, 1903. It was here that she was reared and attended school. She then attended and graduated from Minot Normal School in 1920 where she received her teaching certificate. On Dec. 29, 1927 she was married to Walter Sausker on the Wyman farm. Following their retirement, they moved into Westhope. Her husband, Walter, passed away on May 15, 1971. Blanche had been a resident at the Westhope Home For The Aged since November of 1989.
Blanche had taught piano for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Westhope where she was a Sunday School teacher and an active member in the Ladies Aid. Blanche loved bird watching and was a member of the Garden Club.
Blanche passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 1997 in The Westhope Home For The Aged.
She is survived by one daughter, Marge ... of Great Falls, MT; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Hathaway of Lacy, WA; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Walter, she was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Lois, in 1974.
