Velta Pauline Bailey, 75, of Lubbock went to her Lord on April 4, 2013. She died at home in her sleep and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A visitation will be held today, April 7, 2013, from 2 until 4 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 2013, at 10 a.m. at LakeRidge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Velta was born in Levelland, Texas, in 1937 to O.A and Etta Warren of Goodland, Texas. She attended Eastern New Mexico University and there met her husband, Gary Bailey, who was in the Air Force. They married in 1958. During the 20-year service, they traveled over the world and spent time in Nevada, where she sold mobile homes. In 2007, they moved to Lubbock to be closer to family. Velta leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Gary Bailey; daughter, Janna Bailey, both of Lubbock; sister, Barbara Hogue of Brownfield; nephew, Brent and wife Sherri Hogue of Lubbock, and their children, Stetson, Chelsea and Summit Hogue, all of Lubbock; niece, Carla and husband David Foster, and their children, Jace, Brock, Luke and Zach all of Lubbock; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
