Willard R. Achenbach, 81, of Wind Gap, Pa., passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2006 in the VNA Hospice of St. Lukes, Lower Saucon Township. Husband of Edna K. (Bruch) Achenbach, they have observed 59 years of marriage. Born December 27, 1924 in Plainfield Township, Pa., he was a son of the late James and Helen (Schlamp) Achenbach. He worked as a truck driver for Frick Transfer and Chemical Leaman Tank Liners Inc. until his retirement in January 1987. He served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors: In addition to his wife he is survived by four sons, Larry L. and his wife, Virginia, Terry T. and his wife, Cathy, Kerry K., Tracy T. and fiance, Wanda, all of Wind Gap; daughter, Debra D. Woolaver of Wind Gap; brother, Harold J.; three sisters, Arlene M. Wiersma, Irene M. Connover and Joan Stierwalt; eight grandchildren, Michele, Jason, Michael, Clinton, Gretchen, Justin, Sherry and Candice; four great- grandchildren, Cody, Tyler, Matthew and Concetta. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew.
Services: Military funeral services, 11 a.m.,Monday, November 13, 2006 in the George G. Bensing Funeral Home Inc., Moorestown.
Interment, Plainfield Cemetery, Wind Gap. Call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday evening and 10-11 a.m. Monday morning in the funeral home.
