DAVENPORT - Polly Bennett, 70, of Bernard, Iowa, formerly of Davenport, died Friday at her home. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday.
She retired in 1982 after 31 years at Oscar Mayer Foods Corp., Davenport. Polly Thackery married Glen Bennett in 1941 in Seymour, Iowa. Mrs. Bennett was a member of United Food and Commercial Workers Local 431, Davenport. She enjoyed trout fishing and cooking. Memorials may be made to the family.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Greta Carlson, Davenport, and Betty (Mrs. Jackie) Fish, Buffalo, Iowa; sons, Glen, Nashville, Tenn., and Ben, Bernard; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grand-children; sisters, Betty Fish, Princeton, Iowa, and Maxine Horton of Wapello, Iowa; and a brother, Orville Thackery, Geneseo, Ill.
