Robert Gordon "R.G." Scarbrough Jr., 55, and his wife, Sandra Jo Scarbrough, 52, both of Crossville, passed away Nov. 11, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 13 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with burial in Thomas Springs Cemetery. Bro. Mike Kerley officiated.
Survivors include Mr. and Mrs. Scarbrough's sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Dawn Scarbrough, and Bob and Tracey Scarbrough, all of Crossville; and grandchildren, Kelsey Scarbrough, Gabe Scarbrough and Nerissa Scarbrough.
Mr. Scarbrough was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Cumberland County, the son of Robert Sr. and Helen Slaven Scarbrough.
He was a building contractor, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Scarbrough of Crossville; brother, Jerry Scarbrough of Crossville; sisters, Ann Kerley, Glenda Campbell, Mary Wilson and Sherry Pelfrey, all of Crossville, and Cindy Allen and Charlotte Cross, both of Cookeville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Scarbrough Sr.
Mrs. Scarbrough was born Feb. 26, 1950, in Cumberland County, the daughter of Moses and Violet Rector Tollett.
She was a rural mail carrier, and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother, Violet Kowals of Crossville; brother, Hubert Tollett of Tucson, AZ; sister, Mosetta Dixon of Crossville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Moses Tollett.
Mr. Scarbrough's pallbearers were Delmer Wyatt, Carson Norris, Eugene Randolph, Gwen Millwood, Sonny Millwood, Ron Blaylock, Andy Goss and Scott Maddux.
Mrs. Scarbrough's pallbearers were Jule Bryson, Jim Bryson, Andy Goss, Joe Goss, Calvin Smith, Donald Gunter, Terry Lowe and Terry Christopher.
Hood Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
