Tommie Born, 93, of Paragould, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 at Belle Meade Nursing Center. Born July 5, 1917, she had lived in Paragould her entire life and was a member of the Needham Assembly of God Church. Tommie retired from Wal-Mart and she and her husband Carl ran Granny's Shack and Vegetable Garden in Goobertown for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Carl who passed away October 15, 2010.
Survivors include one daughter, Lavonda Tollison of Jonesboro; two sisters, Edna Schafner of Belle, Missouri and Florene Penny of LaPorte, Indiana; two grandchildren, Greg Schug of Benton, Arkansas and Tanya Blevins of Paragould; three great grandchildren, Karen Dowdy, Karla Qualls and Whitney Schug; three step great grandchildren, Chris Cavenor, Amy Blevins and Colton Blevins.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 22nd, 10:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Matt Smith and Larry Harrison officiating and Wayne Clements serving as Eulogist.
Burial will be private and visitation will be Sunday 3:00 until 5:00 at the funeral home.
