ROY F. SAUNDERS, M. D. Physician and surgeon, with offices in the Flat Iron Building at Fort Worth, Roy Farra Saunders is a son of Bacon Saunders, long distinguished as one of the most eminent surgeons of the South. The son was born at Bonham, in Fannin county, Texas, August 31, 1879. As a boy associate of his father he manifested special taste and aptitude for the medical profession, particularly in the branch of surgery, and since his graduation and the beginning of his independent practice has performed some of the most difficult operations and now ranks among the foremost in ability of the surgeons of Texas.

Dr. Saunders holds the chair of surgery at the Texas Christian University. He is also assistant chief surgeon of the Fort Worth & Denver Railway, for the Trinity and Brazos Valley Railway and local surgeon for the International & Great Northern Railways.

Dr. Saunders received his education at high school, the Texas Christian University, and the Jefferson Medical College of Philadelphia, where he was graduated in 1906 M. D. He was married April 23, 1908, to Miss Kate Guthrie, daughter of C. E. Guthrie, formerly from North Carolina. They have one daughter, Jane Elizabeth Saunders, born June 18, 1910.
