Vettress Burns-Adkins, 86, died Thursday, February 19th, 2015 in Beaumont. She was a long time resident of Vidor who loved to play dominos and bingo, cooking, and going fishing, but especially loved to play with her grandchildren and spend quality time with her family and friends.

Vettress is survived by her 2 sons, Benny Adkins and wife Linda of Vidor, Charles Adkins and wife Renee' of Wildwood, Texas, a daughter, Lynda Adkins of Vidor, 2 sisters, Loretta Crawford and Joyce Williams and a brother, D.D. Burns. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vetress is preceded in death by her husband, Bemon Adkins, son, Lloyd Sheldon Adkins, daughter Nancy Sue Adkins Coulter, 2 sisters, Bessie Mae Rash and Rosielee Adkins, and 2 brothers, Andrew Burns and Harold Wayne Burns.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Services wild be on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor.
