Charlotte Mary De Leon, daughter of Hubert Amos Whittemore and Emma Hahn, was born April 9, 1915 at Moline, Illinois. Sadly, when Charlotte was 9 years old, she lost her mother to death. She lived in Florida; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and spent most of her life in Southern California.
Charlotte Mary peacefully passed into the next life on January 14, 2007 at Torrance, CA. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1925, father in 1968; daughter, Barbara Janice Wing; son, Donald Laurel Surface in 1975; brother, Ralph Whittemore in 1997; sister, Esther Louise Reinholdson in 1980; and former husband, Lowell Surface in 1997.
She was survived by two sons, two daughters; 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Halverson, Stone and Myers, Torrance, CA.
