A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Burroughs-Cooper-Kiser Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Marie Long and the Rev. John L. Melton. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Blenheim. A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the funeral home.
Born January 3, 1929 in Marlboro County, she was the daughter of the late Elijah and Annie Bullard Hayes. Mrs. Clark graduated from the Lower Marlboro High School and was a member of Parnassus United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Parnassus United Methodist Women. She retired from Oak River Mills, and was a member of the Senior Circle in Bennettsville.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, William Vernon Hayes, David N. Hayes, Charles S. Hayes, and Marion Hayes; and a sister, Jettie Hobbs.
She is survived by sons, Johnny Clark (Debbie) of Bennettsville, and Sidney Clark (Darlene) of Blenheim; daughters, Janice Clark of Manning, Jean C. Assef (Manuel) of Cheraw, and Vernon C. Harsey (Larry) of Cheraw; sister, Mary H. Sports of Georgetown; a special longtime friend and companion, George Johnson; grandchildren, Coleman Clark, William Lee, Michelle Clark, Bethany Harsey, Samuel Clark, and Joseph Harsey; and great-grandchildren, Dylan Clark, Hunter Lee, and Hannah Clark.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
