Grace Elizabeth Burns (1936 - 2013) of Manchester died peacefully at home Wednesday March 27, 2013. She worked as a hairdresser for Michaels Coiffure in Hawthorne for 30 years before retiring in 1984 and then working for 15 years for Sears in Lakewood as a Customer Service Rep. Born in Paterson she resided in Hawthorne for many years before moving to Manchester 30 years ago. She was a member of the Ocean County Baptist Church in Toms River and enjoyed helping them out whenever she was able. Surviving is her daughter, Karen Proto and husband Mike of Whiting, brother, Robert Zuidema of Lincoln Park, sister, Gertrude Bacon of Ponce Inlet, FL, 5 grandchildren, Michael & wife Laura, John, Alex, Michael and Michelle, and 4 great grandchildren, Jacob, Peter, Michael and Aubrey. Graveside service and interment is 11 am at the Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
