Veta was a hard worker, loved her children and was a very giving woman. She enjoyed making pies and cakes for school fundraisers and cake walks. After retirement she worked with young children at the Jemcare in Irving, TX.
Veta was preceded in death by her husband Samuel R.J. Akins, Sr.
She is survived by her three sons; Samuel R.J. Akins, Jr of Payne Springs, Don and wife Loretta Akins, Sr of Gun Barrel City and Larry Akins of Irving, daughter Donna and husband Robert Collins of Midlothian, grandchildren; Richard K. Akins, Timothy Akins, Michael Akins, Christopher Akins, William Curtis, Don Akins, Jr., Shaun Akins, Chris Harjo, Nikki Akins, Ashley Akins, Amber Akins, Dylan Akins, Christina Reed, Alyssa Collins, twenty four great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
