CHARLEY LEROY BRANAN, JR

Charley Leroy Branan, Jr., 68, died March 5, 1998 in Coos Bay, Oregon. He was born September 12, 1929 the son of Charley L. and Norma (Harrison) Branan Sr., in Clay Center, Kansas.

Mr. Branan has been a resident of North Bend since 1952. He was a buckaroo on a G.I. Ranch south east of Prineville and Bend when he first came to Oregon. At North Bend, he worked throught the Laborers Union retiring third in seniority in 1995.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, poker, pan and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Darlene "Dot" (Villers) Branan in 1992.

Survivors include daughters, Judy and husband Mark Nelson of Portland, Linda and husband Larry Johnson of Sixes, Oregon. A sister, Mildred J. Branan of Clay Center, Kansas, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, March 8 at Coos Bay Chapel, Coos Bay, Oregon. Chaplain John Sheese officiated. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Dean Creek Elk Reserve or South Coast Hospice, 1620 Thompson Rd., Coos Bay, OR 97420.

Charley is my 1st cousin. He married 1st Corinne Lillian (Shonnesan). He married 2nd Darlene (Villers).
