NEWLAND, Donetta Mona "Donn" (McLean)

Passed away May 8, 2010. She was born January 8, 1930 in Tieton, WA to Marion "Jack" Ashton and Edith Muriel (Caines) McLean to a family of nine children including her twin sister Darlene. She was raised in Cowiche, WA and graduated from Highland High School in Cowiche.
She married her high school sweetheart Douglas Newland July 11, 1948 in Tieton and they lived a short time in Aberdeen, WA and in 1955 they moved to the Spokane Valley and later to the south hill.
Donn was a Girl Scout troop leader, homeroom mother and homemaker until the death of her husband.
She returned to school at Trend College and obtained her degree in Management and Marketing and went to work for the Inland Empire Girl Scout Council where she managed their Store until retirement in 1998. She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and a member of the DAR. She enjoyed gardening, reading and crossword puzzles.
Donn is survived by her daughters Denise Davies (Jim) and Deborah Newland of Spokane; brother Dean A. McLean (Mary) of Downers Grove, IL; grandsons Jeffrey Jackson (Heather) of Ft. Collins, CO and Bret Davies (Cheryl) of Castle Rock, CO; granddaughter Devon Davies-Sumey (Jay) of Roanoke, TX; great grandsons Jarett Jackson, Dylan Davies, Yeats Davies and David Hammer; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas E. Newland; parents; sisters Phyllis Meyers, Joyce Lord, Jacqueline and Darlene Croswhite; brothers Jerald, Duane and Theodore McLean.
