Mary Etta Hetzel, 71, of Springfield, died Monday afternoon, April 6, 1998, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Feb. 10, 1927, in Franklin, a daughter of Chares L. and Genevieve Snow Tannahill. She married Otto V. Hetzel and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1993.
She is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Jack (Lola) Reed of Waverly, Mrs. William (Imogene) Sudduth of Springfield, Mrs. Kenneth (Lillie) Gills of Franklin, Mrs. Don (Juanita) Hipkins of Jacksonville, Mrs. Jack (Patricia) Collins of Sherman, and Mrs. Audrey Larson of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and John Tannahill.
Mrs. Hetzel had been a resident of Springfield since 1948 and was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 1998, at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial was at Waverly East Cemetery.
