Leona was married for a time to Miles Colwell. They had a son who was named after his father. Leona worked in local silk mills, finally ending up at a dress factory known as Dixie Frocks. A remarkable woman who could dance backwards in high heels and make it look easy. She passed away after a seven year battle with breast cancer. She was fifty-two years old.
In addition to her son, Myles Colwell Jr., and her Mother, she is survived by her younger brother Thomas and her sisters, Bertha Fritz Reese and Isabelle Fritz Miller, and several nieces and nephews.
