Surviving are two sons, Richard Dast and his wife, Marian, Robert Dast and his wife, Mary, all of Pigeon; five grandchildren, Patricia Piklo and her husband, Paul, Phil Dast and his wife, Karen, Suzanne Tuma, Barbara Geer and her husband, John, and Carl F. Dast and his wife, Lynda; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Leon; two brothers, Arthur and Norman; and a sister, Marie Dast Stirret, on July 5, 1997.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday from St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Berne. The Rev. James Gorsegner, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Grand Lawn Cemetery in Winsor Township.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today, 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home in Pigeon, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.
