In the 1900 U.S. Census, ship carpenter Sylvester Greenlaw 54, born April 1846 in Canada, parents born Canada, was living on Washington Street in Calais, Maine, with Wilma, 48, born June 1852 in Maine, parents born Maine; cutter in shoe factory Ray H., 24, born June 1876; salesman Eugene B., 21, born March 1879; Annie M., 18, born July, 1882; Marion, 13, born October 1887; Arthur S., 10, born May, 1890; and Mary L., 3, born September 1897, all born in Maine.
The couple had been married for 24 years, and six of Wilma's seven children were still living.

In the 1860 U.S. Census, seaman Philo Dow, 38, born Maine, was living in Tremont, Maine, with Maria, 34; Shubael N., 11; Emeline B., 7; Mary A., 4; and famer Ephraim Dow, 80, all born in Maine.
