Wayne J. Caroff, taught at Shaw for over 30 years
Wayne J. Caroff taught at Shaw High School for more than 30 years. He headed the math department and was a line coach for the football team.
Mr. Caroff, 76, died Tuesday at Meridia Euclid Hospital.
He worked at Shaw from 1946 until retiring in 1979. During his last seven years there, he served as director of Federal programs for the East Cleveland City Schools.
He earned his bachelor's degree from Indiana State Teacher's College and a master's degree from Northwestern University.
