Born December 21, 1909, in Appomattox, Va., she was the daughter of Charlie Page and Gracie Bethel Page, both deceased.
She was a member of Banister Spring Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Roy Lee Carter of Chatham; five sisters, Gladys P. Carson of Farmville, Vernelle P. Bellon of Baltimore, Mary P. Deaner, Vera P. Pugh, and Agnes P. Wilkerson, all of Appomattox; two brothers, Charlie Page of Christiansburg and Ray Page of Appomattox; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Lee Carter; and one son, Lewis Ryland Carter.
The graveside funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Burial Park with Rev. Melvin Shelton officiating.
