David Kent was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. His father, David H. Johnson, was Chief of Police of Portland during Dave's teenage years. He spent a brief time in the Army Reserves. He married Carole Skoog in 1957. They had three children, David Scott, Kristal, and Jenneen.
Dave later married Hope Alliano. Dave dedicated his entire life to public service. From Oregon State Police to Wasco County Under Sheriff to Federal Agent with National Marine Fisheries Service to Crooked River Ranch Volunteer Fire Association. He was recognized for many achievements throughout his career.
After retirement, Dave and Hope enjoyed RVing, eventually buying a second property in Yuma, AZ.
He was loved by all whose lives he touched for his amazing positive attitude and caring heart....
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, at the Crooked River Ranch Fire Hall. Donations in his name may be made to the CRR Volunteer Fire Dept., 6971 Shad Road, CRR, OR 97760.

Marguerite E. 'Peggy' Johnson (1912 - 2003)
A memorial service for Marguerite E. "Peggy" Johnson of McMinnville will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Hillside Manor, McMinnville, with Chaplain Ed Stelle of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office officiating.
Private interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland.
Mrs. Johnson died June 14, 2003, in McMinnville. She was 90.
She was born July 25, 1912, in Alvinston, Ontario.
She married David H. Johnson in Calgary, Alberta, in 1936. He preceded her in death in 1964.
She married Charles Johnson in 1987 in Dundee. He preceded her in death in 1994.
She had lived in Hillside Communities, McMinnville, for 12 years. She was actively involved in social activities and travel for many years. For the past five years, her activity was restricted due to health problems.
Her family said she loved life, was cheerful and had a twinkle in her eye until the very end.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Koudele of Dundee; a son, David Kent Johnson of Terrebonne; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Autumn Funeral & Cremation Service, Tigard.
