1915 - 2013

Marvin Edwin Baker, 97, passed away March 19, 2013 at his residence.
A native of Danielsville, GA, Mr. Baker was a son of the late George and Susie Baker. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Myrtie Whitehead Baker and brothers, Clarence D. Baker, and Thomas J. Baker. Mr. Baker served our great country in the South Pacific during World War II as Staff Sargent in the United States Army. He was proud to be a true patriotic American. Mr. Baker was a member of Moon's Grove Baptist Church for many years.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens, Danielsville with Rev. Dan Fuller, Mr. Coleman Whitehead and Mr. Gene Sapp officiating. Interment will be in Colbert Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred B. Baker; daughter, Marie (Robert) Fields; son, Marion (Karen) Baker; grandchildren, Sonia (Mike) Coile, Tasha (Michael) Young, Mark (Missy) Baker and Katelyn Baker; great grandchildren, McKenna Coile, Hayden Coile and Harlee Baker.
Pallbearers will be Michael Young, Mike Coile, J.R. Cothran, Ricky Cothran, Arnal Strickland and Mike Hardy.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Compassionate Care Hospice or American Cancer Society, Madison County Chapter.
