Mrs. Blake died at 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2013, at her home.
She was born September 30, 1938, at Gamaliel in Baxter County, Arkansas, to Bal Minge and Edith Elizabeth Dihel Minge. She graduated from Viola High School with the Class of 1957. On June 6, 1956, she was married at Salem, Arkansas, to Kenneth Blake. Early in their marriage, they lived in California while Kenny served in the Marine Corps. Later they settled near Bakersfield, Missouri where they raised their children on the family farm. Flossie retired from Baxter Health Care, Mountain Home. She enjoyed the outdoors and camping yearly with her brothers and family; she was a loving mother, grandmother and granny and. Her ability to problem solve and fix anything from mechanics to broken hearts will be dearly missed by her friends and family. Her soft heart touched many people throughout the years.
Before her retirement she worked as an Assistant Quality Control Supervisor at Baxter Lab, had been the owner/operator of The Bakersfield Café. She enjoyed gardening and loved her family and grandkids. Mrs. Blake was a Christian.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Blake, of the family home; two children, Deborah Mahan, husband, Mike and David Blake, all of Bakersfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Michael Mahan, wife, Tracy, Caulfield, Missouri, Lisa Bean, husband, Bobby, Caulfield, Missouri, Clifford Blake, Bakersfield, Missouri and Cruise Blake, Bakersfield, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Logan, Mason, Bo and Luke; two brothers, Bob Minge, wife, Leah, Clio, Michigan and Thurlo Minge, wife, Gloria, Viola, Arkansas; one sister, Ruby Pemberton, special friend, Don, West Plains, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, five brothers, Willie, Roy, Troy, Fred and Charlie Minge, one sister, Ida Mae and one great-grandson, Jaxon Mahan, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Flutie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Flutie Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
