Betty Jean Harvey Barr traded her earthly wings for heavenly ones March 17, 2013, after a long courageous battle of declining health. She was 81 years old.
Betty was born September 21, 1931 to "Crip" and Vermell Harvey. She was raised in Mendenhall along with her siblings, James Earl Harvey, Frances (Shows), Doris (Williams), Geraldine(Lyons), and Tommy Joe Harvey.
She met and married Ardis Barr, and they made their home in Vicksburg where she worked for US Rubber as the bookkeeper for over thirty years.
Betty is survived by her husband, Ardis Barr of 37 years; one daughter, Lynn Lyons Koestler of Vicksburg, and two grandsons that she adored, Luke Koestler of Brandon, and Matt Koestler of Vicksburg. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Williams, and brother, Tommy Joe Harvey.
Arrangements were entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall Thursday, March 21, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. in Tutor Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Mendenhall City Cemetery.
