Jean was born in Crestline on October 19, 1925 to the late Joseph D. and Westella J. (Stephan) Obermiller. She married Alexander J. Anatra on November 27, 1948 and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2002.
Jean lived in Crestline all her life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline. She was a graduate of the Crestline High School, Class of 1943. She had worked at Shelby Seamless Tube for 8 years. She worked at Galion Community Hospital as an X-Ray Aide for 12 years until her retirement in 1987. She was a devoted wife and mother, putting her family first. In her retirement years, she spent time crocheting, doing puzzles and loved to read mystery novels.
She is survived by her son and two daughters: Constance R. Anatra, Pembroke Pine, Fl, Matthew Anatra, Mansfield, Lorraine & Bruce Potter, Crestline, her two grandchildren Daniel & Emily Potter and Chelsea Anatra and her great grandson Alexander Potter. She is survived by many nieces and nephews too numerous to name.
She was preceded in death by her infant son Gary Joseph Anatra, her brother James Obermiller, her two sisters Berdene Williams and Millie DeLelles.
The family will receive friends Friday March 22, 2013 from 11 – 2PM at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 PM at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline with Deacon Bill Horning officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Crestline.
