Educated in Swaledale, later moved to a farm near Sheffield and attended country school through 8th grade and graduated with honors from Sheffield High School. Valois taught country school for a year in Cerro Gordo County before her marriage to Walter Koester 10 May 1935 @ Grace Baptist Church, Sheffield. They farmed the Iowa land NW of Rockwell. Moved to Rockwell in 1980. Member of lst United Methodist, Sheffield and Grace Baptist Church, Sheffield. Served on the Rockwell Cemetery Society and member of Rockwell Senior Citizens.
Valois & Walter led a very active life - activities of fishing, golf, and games with their friends. They escaped north Iowa winters to Florida, Texas, California & Arizona.
