Former Utah resident passed away December 29, 2003 at age 81. Prominent California business leader, retired VP of Bank of America.

Born and reared on a cattle ranch in Bloomington, Idaho. Served in US Navy during World War II. Graduate of Utah State University, MBA University of California Berkeley. Retired from banking career after four decades, then worked as an independent financial advisor and real estate broker until disabled by a massive stroke two months before his death.

Active in community affairs. Stalwart member of LDS Church, ordinance worker in Oakland Temple for 18 years.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Joy N. Hulme, their children John and Lorraine Hulme, Kathy H. Stephens, Douglas and Brenda Hulme, and Peggy H. and Craig McClanahan, 23 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren, and by brothers and sisters Philip and Lois Hulme, Charles and Connie Hulme, and Lucille H. and Grant Smart. Preceded in death by two brothers, Orval and Horace, a teenage son David, and infant granddaughter Amalie.

Following a California funeral on Monday, a memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 7, 11 am at the LDS Cottonwood chapel, 5165 So. Highland Drive (2280 E), SLC. Interment at Elysian Gardens Cemetery.
