Our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather, John F. Marron departed this life in peace on November 11, 2012 at his home in Richland. He was born in the Philippine Islands on February 2, 1927 to Commodore Adrian R. Marron and Katharine M. Marron. Raised in a naval family, he grew up at many postings stateside and abroad. He served in the navy during WWII. After graduating from Yale and the University of Tennessee, he taught at the University of Miami (Florida) where he met his future wife, Betty Ann. They married on December 21, 1959 and moved to Illinois, California and then in 1977 to Richland, Washington where he worked as an engineer at Hanford.
John and Betty Ann raised 3 sons, William, Ronald, and Henry and a daughter, Katharine. They were active and longtime members of Meadow Springs Presbyterian Church and in the Congregation at Riverton. He also enjoyed traveling around the US and Europe, being with their friends and family, playing bridge, and expanding his knowledge and faith.
John is survived by his loving wife, Betty Ann, son William and his wife Shelley, son Ronald and his wife Nydia, son Henry and his wife Monique, daughter Katharine, nine grandchildren; Emily, Heather, Isaiah, Zechariah, Daniel, Elijah, Johnny, Hannah and Julia, and great-granddaughter, Grace. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mary Louisa Ball of Charleston, SC and Adrienne Winters of Silver Springs, MD.
A Loving Farewell will be held on Saturday, December 8, 212 at 2pm at Hillcrest Memorial Center, 9353 West Clearwater Ave, Kennewick, WA.
Burial will be private.
