Francis J. "Buster" Funda, of 427 S. Alvord St., died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Funda was a native and life-long resident of Syracuse. He had been employed by the former Crowley's Netherland Dairy and had retired from the MONY Building security department in 1981. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps. Surviving are a son, Frederick J.; three aunts, Mrs. Ann Sallen, Mrs. Stella King, and Mrs. Mary Funda; a sister-in-law, Carol Kimmerle; and two brothers-in-law, O. James and Robert K. Kimmerle. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Frasier-Shepardson Funeral Home, the Rev. David Sambor officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 1217 N. Salina St.
