Youlanda Rose Tennant Phillips, 72, passed away Sunday evening, February 24, 2013, at CMC-Northeast Medical Center. Born July 6, 1940 in Greene County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jasper C. and Essie M. Rose Tennant. Educated in the Pennsylvania schools, she had retired as owner/operator of Phillips Moblie Home Village in Kannapolis. Mrs. Phillips had attended Piedmont Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Family members left with cherished memories include her sons, Randall Lynn "Randy" Phillips and wife, Valerie, of Charlotte and Richard Allen Phillips and wife, Amy, of Kannapolis, her brothers, James Tennant of Mt. Morris, PA and Herbert Tennant of Silver Springs, FL and her grandchildren, Joshua Phillips and wife, Amanda and David Phillips and 7 step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, February 28, 2013 from 6:00-8:00, at Piedmont Baptist Church, 5870 Wright Road in Kannapolis. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM FRiday, also at the church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Michael Edwards, pastor. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in China Grove.
